- Standalone houses with yards and ocean light in Almadies and Ngor near ISD; apartments closer to the Plateau embassy. Generators and water tanks are standard, and ocean-side humidity eats electronics.

Same-sex sexual relations are criminalized in Senegal. LGB individuals routinely face discrimination. Under Article 319 of the Senegalese criminal code, “unnatural acts” are punishable by imprisonment of one to five years and a fine of fCFA 1,000,000. Several arrests have occurred under these laws.
