Privacy Policy

• Your email address, used only for sign-in links and, if you are an administrator, operational notifications.
• Your contributions: directory recommendations, notes, flags, reviews, and pulse answers, stored with your account until you delete it (see below) and published only under a role descriptor.
• A role descriptoryou choose (like "EFM / spouse"), which is the only identity ever shown publicly.
• Your post, if you choose to set it: optionally recording your current or most recent post lets us show you quick questions about it. It is never shared, displayed, or visible to anyone, including other members, and you can change or clear it any time on the Contribute page.
• The languages you speak, if you pick any: the posts page can filter by what you speak. Signed out, that choice stays in your browser. Signed in, it is saved with your account so it follows you to another device. It is never shared, displayed, or visible to anyone, and you can clear it on the Account page.
• Your compare setup, only if you switch on sync: by default the posts you are comparing and the pay details you enter live in your browser and nowhere else. If you turn on "Sync my compare setup" on the Account page, we store the list of posts and your pay setup (salary, family status, and incentive pays) so you do not re-enter them on every device. They are never shared, displayed, or visible to anyone. Your weights, rules, and column choices stay in your browser. Turning sync off deletes the stored copy immediately.

The rule behind all of this: we store settings you deliberately save, and we never record what you do. There is no log of the pages you view, the posts you open, or what you search for.

We do not collect names, run advertising or tracking pixels, sell or share data with advertisers, or display any per-user activity. Post pages show aggregate statistics only. Nobody, including other users, can see what you research, save, or read.

Two, both functional: your sign-in session, and (during the closed beta) the preview-password cookie. No analytics or third-party cookies.

Accounts and contributions are stored with Supabase (Postgres, US region); the site is hosted on Railway; sign-in and notification emails are delivered via Supabase and Resend. These processors receive only what is needed to run the service. Post-page hero photographs load from Wikimedia's CDN.

Deleting your account removes your email and profile and permanently detaches your identity from every contribution you made. The contributions themselves remain, anonymized, as described in the Terms of Use. Flags you filed remain visible to moderators without any link to you.

Directory entries contain business information recommended by community members. If you are listed and want your information corrected or removed, flag the entry or email the address in the site footer; removal requests are honored promptly.
