Terms of Use

PostCompass is an independent research tool for the US Foreign Service community: post information, comparison tools, and a community directory of recommended service providers. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the U.S. Department of State or any government agency, and nothing here is official guidance.

During the beta, parts of the site display clearly labeled sample or demonstration data. Community-reported information carries a visible marker. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, medical, or financial advice, and decisions (bidding, travel, medications, pets, money) remain yours to verify through official channels.

Accounts use email sign-in only. You are responsible for the email address you register. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, spam the directory, or attempt to identify other users.

Contributions (directory recommendations, notes, reviews, pulse answers) are published anonymously, attributed only to a role descriptor. By contributing you grant PostCompass a perpetual, worldwide license to publish, aggregate, and adapt the contribution as part of the service.

Contributions are permanent by design: deleting your account removes the connection between you and everything you contributed, but the contributions themselves remain, anonymized, because the next family relies on them.

Rules for contributions:

• The directory is recommendations-only. Adding a provider means you vouch for them. There are no ratings and no negative commentary on named individuals; problems go through the private flag button.
• Share business contact information only (a provider's work WhatsApp, shop location), never private personal information about anyone.
• Never post non-public government information of any kind. Public sources and personal experience only.
• No advertising your own business, impersonation, or automated posting.

Contributions publish immediately and are reviewed after the fact. We may edit for accuracy, remove content, or restrict accounts at our discretion. Listed as a provider and want changes or removal? Flag the entry or contact us and we will handle it promptly.

The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Community recommendations are personal opinions of anonymous contributors, not vetted endorsements; data can be wrong, stale, or incomplete; the service may change or pause at any time during the beta.
